Trossachs Hash House Harriers

Ainslie (Zimmer) Kidd
A Trossachs Hasher from its beginnings to the early nineties who died in August 2001.

Zimmer was an ever-present Trossachs hasher throughout our formative years. His principal conversation piece at that time centered around his octogenarian mother and the ways in which she would make a misery of his life.

At his Trossachs hashing peak he was Grand Master at the time of the 100th run in 1990. The Hash Trash for that weekend described him as "Founder member, now foundering worse than ever. Acknowledged SCB expert and hash fashion leader. Nihilist school of hashing - insists on getting nihilitated whenever the opportunity arises." Unfortunately, he went steadily down hill from here and within a few years his fitness, and his income (or lack of it) would prevent him from coming to the runs.

He continued to keep in touch with the hash for a while, and hashed with some of the London packs when he did some work there. Early last year we heard from mutual friends that he was very ill. Mimi enquired about him in January 2002, only to find out he died last August.

Ah well, at least he outlived his mother!

Zimmer : may he rest in this kind of peace!
